SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo ISD will host its annual “Manos a la Obra” Emergent Bilingual Resource Night on Tuesday, April 29, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Bradford Elementary School, 2302 Bradford St.
The free, family-friendly event aims to connect SAISD families with bilingual education resources while offering activities including children’s book giveaways, snacks and refreshments, and a visit from special guest H-E-Buddy. Attendees will also find assistance with registration for the 2025–2026 school year and storytime read-alouds presented by San Angelo READS! Additional activities will be led by the Lake View High School Ambassadors student group.
Now in its fifth year, SAISD’s Bilingual Program utilizes the students' primary language of Spanish as a resource while acquiring full proficiency in English including listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
"Developing a child’s home language is critical for developing their English language skills," information from the school district states. "Research has shown that English learners who receive bilingual instruction at an early age are more successful academically and have higher achievements in later grades."
"SAISD is proud to host this evening of fun and information, connecting families with vital resources that foster academic success, personal development and community support," the district stated. "We are grateful for our community partners joining us to help make this a fun and impactful event for our families."
The event is hosted by the district’s Bilingual Program and is intended to support academic achievement, personal growth, and family engagement through access to community resources.
