SAN ANGELO, TX - Angelo State University's Single Reed Studio program will present a public concert featuring ASU music students performing on clarinet and saxophone on Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Carr-Education-Fine Arts (EFA) Building at 2602 Dena Drive.
The concert will take place in the Carr EFA Building's Eldon Black Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. Eleven students will each perform a piece of classical music accompanied on piano by one of ASU's staff accompanists, Grace Allen or Eun Mi Lee.
The musical program will include:
- "Sonata No. 3" by Georg Handel - Cole Campbell on alto saxophone
- "Azur" by Jean-Michel Damase - Madison Cano on alto saxophone
- "Duo for clarinet and piano" by Norbert Burgmuller - Jaime Herrera on clarinet
- "Five Bagatelles, op. 23" by Gerald Finzi - Becca Mieske on clarinet
- "Sonata for cello and piano" by Louise Farrenc - Gavin Martinson on bass clarinet
- "Lilac Tears" by Jennifer Jolley - Cooper Young on alto saxophone
- "Sonata for clarinet and piano" by Franz Danzi - Gabriela Perry on clarinet
- "Fantasy Pieces, op. 43" by Niels Gade - Guenevere Davenport on clarinet
- "Rhapsody for alto saxophone and orchestra" by Andre Waignein - Gregory Wilson on alto saxophone
- "Sonata for alto saxophone and piano, op. 19" by Paul Creston - Titus McIntosh on alto saxophone
- "Concerto for clarinet and orchestra" by Oscar Navarro - Nicolas DeLeon on clarinet
The ASU Single Reed Studio is directed by Dr. Timothy Bonenfant, professor of music.
