Town Halls to Address San Angelo Sign Rules, Cultural District Expansion

SAN ANGELO, TX — The City of San Angelo Planning & Development Services Department will host two public town hall meetings next week to discuss proposed changes to local ordinances and development plans.

The first meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday, March 31, at the Tom Green County Library, 33 W. Beauregard Ave. It will focus on proposed amendments to the city’s sign ordinance and clarify existing definitions and regulations. The amendments define billboards, set standards for sign heights, and introduce protections for historical and cultural districts in San Angelo.

A second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, 1 Love St. That session will center on the Cultural District located south of the Concho River and downtown. Officials will discuss expanding and reforming the district to support revitalization through the preservation of cultural and historical assets and development of residential and small commercial projects.
