SAN ANGELO, TX — A limited-run cocktail event inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe is coming to San Angelo on March 28–29.
The “Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy” will be held at Cain’s Cove on Lake Nasworthy, with showtimes at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. each night.
The 90-minute, 21-and-up experience features four of Poe’s classic stories reimagined and performed by “Poe Historians” while guests sip themed cocktails crafted by a lead mixologist. Tickets are $45 and must be purchased in advance. Organizers say seating is limited and reservations are restricted to small groups.
The event is organized by Haunted Tavern, a national event group known for immersive cocktail experiences. The San Angelo engagement is part of a larger national tour planned for 2025.
According to organizers, the featured stories include “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Raven,” “The Masque of Red Death” and “The Black Cat.” Each tale is paired with a custom drink designed to complement the story’s tone and theme.
