Tango and Classical Elegance Collide at San Angelo Museum Concert

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts’ Chamber Music Series returns with Trio Aurora in concert on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the Grand Hall of SAMFA located at 1 Love Street, San Angelo, TX.

Trio Aurora is a dynamic chamber ensemble formed by three accomplished musicians: Dr. Fagner Magrinelli Rocha, violin, Yoo-Jung Chang, cello, and Dr. Eun Mi Lee, piano.

The concert will feature Mendelssohn’s beloved Piano Trio No. 1, a masterpiece of lyrical beauty and dramatic intensity, alongside Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, a set of tango-inspired works brimming with rhythmic energy and evocative melodies.

Dr. Fagner Magrinelli Rocha, violin, brings passion and technical mastery to the ensemble with extensive experience performing as a soloist and chamber musician. He is an Associate Professor of Music at Angelo State University, concertmaster for the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of the Big Spring Symphony Orchestra.

Yoo-Jung Chang, a versatile cellist, is a sought-after performer and educator. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in various settings and is dedicated to bringing expressive and compelling performances to audiences. Her deep musicality and refined technique enrich the Trio’s dynamic interpretations. She plays in multiple orchestras and teaches cello at Trinity University in San Antonio and Angelo State University in San Angelo.

Dr. Eun Mi Lee, piano, is a recent addition to the San Angelo community, serving as Piano Accompanist for the music program at Angelo State University. A skilled pianist and collaborative artist, Dr. Eun Mi Lee has an extensive background in solo and chamber music performances. She has performed in multiple venues, showcasing her artistry in a wide range of repertoire.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite. $10 general admission, $5 seniors, and admission is free for children under 18, students, and military. Light refreshments available.

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The museum is supported by generous contributions from both individuals and businesses.
