Stray Dog’s Emergency C-Section Costs Over $1,000, San Angelo Rescue Seeks Help

SAN ANGELO, TX – A pregnant stray dog, now named Miss Sweetie, required an emergency C-section and spay after a breach puppy became lodged in her birth canal, Concho Valley PAWS announced Monday.

The organization is seeking donations to cover more than $1,000 in veterinary costs.

Miss Sweetie was found abandoned and taken in temporarily by a local resident before being referred to PAWS for rehoming. She went into labor Sunday, leading to a medical emergency. The viability of her puppies remains uncertain, and additional expenses are expected if they survive and require care before adoption.

PAWS officials stated that unexpected medical cases like Sweetie’s often require additional financial support.

Donations can be made online at CVPAWS.org/give, by mail to 3134 N US Hwy 67, San Angelo, TX 76905, or through designated links on PAWS’ platforms.

Sweetie is currently receiving care at Arden Road South Veterinary Clinic under Dr. Smoulka.
