San Angelo Native Named Odessa’s Firefighter of the Year

 

ODESSA, TX — Megan Smith, a San Angelo native and Odessa Fire Rescue firefighter, has been honored as the department’s Firefighter of the Year.

Smith joined Odessa Fire Rescue in August 2021. Since then, she has built an exemplary career, earning praise for her dedication and skill.

In 2023, Smith became a certified paramedic.

Born in San Angelo and raised in Lubbock, Smith credits her family and upbringing for her strong values.

She described her Odessa Fire Rescue team as supportive and driven, and committed to making a difference in the community.

Looking ahead, Smith says she is eager to explore new opportunities within the department and continue her personal and professional growth.
