SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo City Council will vote on city projects, a zoning change, and a Lake Nasworthy lease termination during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 8:30 a.m. at the McNease Convention Center.
On the consent agenda, the council will decide whether to authorize lease termination and eviction proceedings for a residential lot at 2502 Sleepy Hollow Rd. The tenant owes $3,162 in unpaid annual fees for 2024. City officials say collection efforts, including certified mailings, have failed since lease fee increases began in 2019.
The council will also consider awarding contracts for infrastructure improvements, including:
- $1.98 million to L3Harris Technologies, Inc. for fire department radio upgrades.
- $170,379.14 to Reece Albert, Inc. for improvements to Jackson Street.
- $119,647.24 to Centurion Planning and Design for Chadbourne Street Phase B and S-Curve projects.
Additionally, the agenda includes a first reading of a zoning ordinance change to reclassify six properties near W. 18th St. and Martin Luther King Dr. from general commercial to low-rise multifamily zoning.
Other items include accepting a Back the Badge donation for San Angelo Police Department equipment or training and approving pre-booking dates for the 2026, 2027, and 2028 “Star Spangled Banner Concerts” at the Bill Aylor Memorial River Stage.
The council will also consider extending temporary changes to the city’s sign ordinance to allow more time for permanent updates.
The meeting is open to the public, and citizens can address the council during public comment at the start of the session. Comments are limited to three minutes per speaker.
