San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts to Host Free Family Day

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will host a Free Family Day on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024. Throughout the day, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., the museum will offer a variety of activities available to the public with free admission, including entry into the galleries to view the From the Realms of Glory exhibition and the En Plein Air Landscape exhibition.

The Education Studio and the Concho Clay Studio will offer holiday themed activities for families such as painting ceramic ornaments, decorating glass votive oil lamps, making Christmas angels and Madonna and child paper dolls. Story time and a free children’s book giveaway will be presented in the Grand Hall by the San Angelo Junior League along with a tamale making demonstration, holiday photo booth for selfies and a Christmas tree forest in the lobby. Throughout the day, enjoy in-gallery music, live performances and refreshments from a churro truck and coffee truck.

Free admission to the galleries is included. Enjoy a stunning exhibition from SAMFA’s collection of sacred art from Spanish Colonial and 19th century Latin America with gallery tours offered in English and Spanish at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. The museum is supported by generous contributions from both individuals and businesses.
