SAN ANGELO, TX — For the second consecutive year, Majestic Studio & Lounge is giving away free turkeys for Thanksgiving to families in need in San Angelo.
Located at 4818 Southland Blvd., the barber shop purchased 60 turkeys — with the help of some special pricing from Sam’s Club — and is giving them away first-come, first serve.
They had 27 left as of about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26.
Majestic Studio & Lounge owner Johan Marrero, aka Cheko the Barber, said they gave away 30 turkeys last year, and he teamed with Luis Urteaga from UP Positive Promotions to double that amount this year.
Marrero said giving back to his community was the inspiration for the giveaway.
“San Angelo, Texas has given me so much. They helped allow me to be what I am today, especially with God. Because of the community of San Angelo, I wanted to give back, and that’s why I did it last year,” Marrero said.
