SAN ANGELO, TX — Bentwood Country Club has announced a $2 million renovation project for its golf course, set to begin in summer 2025. The course will temporarily close from May 1, 2025, to October 1, 2025, to complete the upgrades, which aim to elevate the golfing experience.
The renovations include resurfacing greens, reshaping subgrades for improved pin locations, and upgrading fairways and approaches with TifTuf Bermuda grass, known for its durability and drought tolerance. The project will also involve bunker renovations with new drainage and sand, and a new course design by renowned architect Jeff Blume.
The club’s ownership group has invested $9.5 million in various upgrades over the past decade, enhancing amenities such as tennis, pickleball, fitness facilities, and irrigation systems.
During the closure, all other Bentwood amenities will remain open. The leadership acknowledges the temporary inconvenience but assures members the results will be worth the wait.
The updated course is expected to reopen in October 2025.
