SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo, in collaboration with the Alcohol & Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley (ADACCV), will hold a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, for the new playground at Mountainview Park, 3031 Freeland.
Mountainview Park, initially developed in 1977, has been a part of the community for decades. It was home to the City’s first accessible playground installed in 1994 which was located on the same grounds as the new playground, according to the City of San Angelo.

The Alcohol & Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley received a grant from Texas Health and Human Services to fund the project, totaling $94,000.
These funds were specifically allocated to reduce anxiety and stressors in our community caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the city stated.
Now, thanks to the generous support of ADACCV, and approval by the City Council, the park has a new playground.
The new playground is designed for children aged 2-12, focusing on ages 5-12, "providing a safe, enjoyable space for kids to play and interact."
