Angelo State Planetarium to Showcase 'Stars' and 'Black Holes' This Week

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The Angelo State University Planetarium will continue its fall 2024 schedule of full-dome public astronomy shows this week with two programs in the Vincent Building at 2333 Vanderventer St.

Planetarium shows run weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. through Dec. 5, with a few breaks in the schedule, including for Thanksgiving. 

All the shows are open to the public with admission prices of $3 for adults and $2 for children, active military and senior citizens. Angelo State students, faculty and staff are admitted free.

The fall schedule includes two brand-new shows and the "Season of Light" holiday program.

The fall Planetarium shows will run as follows:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 25 - Stars: The Powerhouses of the Universe
  • Thursday, Sept. 26 - Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity
  • Wednesday, Oct. 2 - From Earth to the Universe
  • Thursday, Oct. 3 - First and Farthest
  • Wednesday, Oct. 9 - Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West
  • Thursday, Oct. 10 - Birth of Planet Earth
  • Wednesday, Oct. 16 - Expedition Reef*
  • Thursday, Oct. 17 - The Cowboy Astronomer
  • Wednesday, Oct. 30 - Flight of the Butterflies**
  • Thursday, Oct. 31 - Super Volcanoes
  • Wednesday, Nov. 6 - Backyard Wilderness**
  • Thursday, Nov. 7 - One Sky Project
  • Wednesday, Nov. 20 - Season of Light
  • Thursday, Nov. 21 - Season of Light
  • Wednesday, Dec. 4 - Season of Light
  • Thursday, Dec. 5 - Season of Light
