San Angelo Police Officers’ Coalition and City Officials Reach Tentative Pay Agreement

SAN ANGELO, TX — A meeting today between the San Angelo Police Officers’ Coalition (SAPOC) and City of San Angelo officials concluded with a tentative agreement regarding officer pay increases, according to the City of San Angelo.

Under the proposed terms, police officers will see salary boosts funded within the city’s existing budget. The city has accepted SAPOC’s cost-neutral plan, which will be financed through savings from unfilled positions within the San Angelo Police Department. The plan aims to help recruit new officers and retain the current workforce, information states.

The agreement is set to go before police officers for approval before heading to the City Council for final ratification. If approved, the changes will take effect on October 1, 2024, and remain in place until December 31, 2025.
