San Angelo City Council Adopts Increased Property Tax Rate

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo City Council has adopted an increased property tax rate for the 2024-2025 fiscal year during its meeting this morning. 

The new rate of 0.7544 per $100 valuation is an increase from the previous fiscal year’s rate of 0.7042, a 13.34% rise.

The additional revenue generated by this tax increase will be allocated across multiple city funds. The new rate will contribute 0.6178 for maintenance and operations in the General Fund, 0.0072 for the Street Infrastructure Fund, and 0.1294 to address the bonded indebtedness of the City of San Angelo.

The ordinance will go into effect immediately, with taxes levied under this new rate due on October 1, 2024. Any unpaid taxes by February 1, 2025, will be considered delinquent.
