SAN ANGELO, TX — A benefit for Neil Werner, who is recovering from open-heart surgery, will be held at Blaine’s Pub on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Werner, a Wall High School graduate who lives in San Angelo, underwent heart surgery in May, shortly after he and his wife, Lindsey, found out she was pregnant with their second child.
Werner also lost his job during this time, putting his family in a difficult financial situation.
Friends have rallied around Werner and organized a benefit to help him out. All of the details can be found on the event’s Facebook page here.
“We all know Lindsey and Neil are hardworking, kind-hearted individuals who have always been there for others in times of need,” stated the Facebook event page. “Now, it is our turn to rally around them and offer our support when they need it most. Together, we can make a real difference in their lives and help alleviate some of the financial burdens they are facing. Please come out and support them!”
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Blaine’s Pub, 10 W. Harris Ave.
Cooking for Christ will be serving up pork chop plates. A silent auction will begin when the doors open and run until 30 minutes after the live auction ends. There will be other raffles, including a gun raffle.
If someone would like to make a monetary donation, there is an account set up at The Bank & Trust, 1420 Knickerbocker Road, under Neil’s name.
