Smoke on the Water: Brush Fire Breaks Out Along Concho River

 

SAN ANGELO, Texas — A grass fire broke out Thursday afternoon across the Concho River from San Angelo Central High School. San Angelo firefighters responded quickly and are currently working to contain the blaze.

Flames were seen along the river near the Motel 6 as firefighters developed a plan of attack.

As of now, no injuries have been reported, and no structures are threatened. The weather is hot and dry, with temperatures reaching 108 degrees. Tom Green County is currently under a burn ban. The fire was reported at approximately 1 p.m. on Aug. 22, 2024.
