SAN ANGELO, TX — There is another update on the new splash pad project being built at Unidad Park, located at 3245 Vista Del Arroyo Drive.
The splash pad is almost complete, as the concrete, water features, and water circulation and treatment systems are finished. The official All-Tex Irrigation Splash Pad sign is also up.
See the splash pad as of July 8, 2024:
All-Tex co-owner Jeff Perrine posted a video on All-Tex’s official Facebook account on Saturday detailing some of the features and what more they have to do before the splash pad is ready to go.
In the video, Perrine details some of the water features and how the water treatment system works. The splash pad is a recirculating unit, which means the water will be reused. Water dispensed through the water features drains into several drains located across the concrete slab before running through a pipe into a 2,000-gallon tank. From there, the water is pumped through a water treatment system before being dispensed through the splash pad again.
The splash pad still has dirt work, some construction on the water treatment system housing area, benches, and picnic tables left to install before the splash pad is complete.
After the current project at Unidad Park is completed, another splash pad will be built out at Kirby Park, located at 1401 Edmund Boulevard.
