San Angelo Man Killed in Golf Cart Accident

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - A San Angelo man was killed in an accident involving a golf cart driven by a woman who was under the influence of alcohol, according to a release from the San Angelo Police Department.

San Angelo police officers responded to a report of an unconscious person in the 5500 block of Enclave Court at about 6:15 p.m. June 29, 2024.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a golf cart operated by Emilee Krieger, 28, caused a serious accident resulting in injuries to the passenger, Dustin Patino, 41. 

San Angelo Fire Department personnel transported Patino to Shannon Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and died three days later Tuesday, July 2.

Krieger consented to a breathalyzer test, confirming a blood-alcohol concentration above the legal limit, according to the release. Krieger was arrested and charged with intoxication assault.  

SAPD emphasized the dangers of operating any vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and reminded the public there would be increased enforcement regarding DWIs during the Fourth of July weekend.
