Local Musical Artist Hosting Kids Ukulele Workshop this Summer

SAN ANGELO, TX— A local musician is hosting a ukulele workshop for kids.

Daycee Oswalt, lead singer of Daycee and the Dudettes and local musician, is hosting a summer workshop for children who want to learn to play the ukulele. The lessons will be held at the Bearded Barista’s conference room and is open for children ages 8-13.

Oswalt's main focus is to teach children the history and art of ukulele, chords, strumming patterns, extend their creativity in songwriting, and build confidence as a musician.

"The ukulele is a wonderful bridge for kids who want to learn [to play] the guitar, but aren't quite old or big enough." Oswald said.

It costs $65 per student and each student will be able to chose a song and there will be a ukulele concert at the end of the workshop for each student to show off their newly learned skill. The recital will also be held at the Bearded Barista on August 15th.

Everyone is welcome to attend and Oswalt wants to encourage other local ukulele players to join in on the fun.

The summer ukulele workshop will run from July 9th until August 15th and for more information, contact Daycee Oswalt at 325-340-6823.
