Thunderstorm Heading Towards North Tom Green County

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— The National Weather Service has issued a warning that a thunderstorm is heading this way.

According to information from the National Weather Service, a strong thunderstorm is heading across south central Coke County, northeastern Tom Green County, and Northeastern Irion County through 5:00 p.m.

At 4:13 p.m., Doppler Radar was tracking a thunderstorm near Arden and moving northeast at 25 mph.

Wind gusts are the big hazard at 50 mph and penny sized hail as both could knock down tree limbs and move unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to crops is possible as well.

The areas that the storm could impact include San Angelo, Carlsbad, Veribest, Water Valley, Grape Creek, Harriet, Arden, O.C. Fischer Reservoir, the San Angelo State Park, Goodfellow Air Force Base, and US-87 near the Coke County/Tom Green County line.

The National Weather Service does ask to consider taking shelter inside a building.
