UPDATED: The Bosque Opening Delayed

SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo City Council approved plans to amend the fee structure for city parks and recreation services, including new charges at The Bosque and the removal of fees at the Nature Center. 

The city council met today, May 7, and information within the agenda item also stated that The Bosque, 330 S. Irving St, will open to the public on May 10. However, the city's recreation office has had to delay the opening of The Bosque while they "finalize some things."

San Angelo LIVE! was told that once the official opening date is set, we will receive that information. 

The fees approved for the Summer of 2024 are below: 

• Water: $2.00
• Soda: $3.00
• Gatorade: $4.00
• Candy: $3.00
• Ring Pops: $1.00
• Chips: $3.00
• Trail Mix: $3.00
• Cookies: $3.00
• Sno-cones: $2.00
• Nachos: $5.00
• Pickles: $2.00
• Pickle Shots: $1.00
• Pretzels: $5.00
• Popcorn: $5.00

According to information from the city, credit and debit cards are accepted only.

The game court area is along the Concho River. Even when "The Grove" (concession stand) is closed, The Bosque area will be open to the public daily, and people may bring their own equipment (washers, volleyballs, bocce balls) to use at The Bosque.

The Bosque includes washer-pitching pits, oversized chess, putt-putt golf, sand volleyball, bocce ball, and concessions.

The Bosque Summer hours of operation: 

• Monday-Wednesday: closed.
• Thursday-Saturday: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Sunday: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The last opportunity for equipment rental at The Bosque will be one hour before closing time.
