SAN ANGELO, TX — The Family Shelter is currently seeking donations of paper and plastic goods for its emergency safe haven. Needed items include paper towels, toilet paper, plates, bowls, serveware, napkins, 39-gallon, and kitchen trash bags. Additionally, laundry detergent, bleach, and Pinesol are in high demand.
Donations can be delivered to the safe haven located at 79 Gillis St in San Angelo at any time and placed on the porch.
April marks Child Abuse Prevention Month. Many children served by the Family Shelter experience the upheaval and instability of their homes. Those who witness emotional and physical abuse may exhibit aggressive or passive behaviors, encounter challenges in school such as learning disorders, experience outbursts, become overly demanding, face a heightened risk of health issues, engage in runaway behavior, miss school, or suffer from depression. Ensuring stability for these children, including infants, is paramount at the safe haven.
Victims are encouraged to contact the hotline at 325-655-5774.
