SAN ANGELO, TX - The 17th Training Wing at Goodfellow Air Force Base has announced the selectees for the rank of senior master sergeant in the 2024 E-8 selection cycle.
According to information released from the base, only 1,734 individuals were selected out of 15,151 eligible this year.
The ceremony, held on March 25, honored the select few who have been chosen for this rank.
Information states that this rank is pivotal within the Air Force, as it denotes a high level of leadership and management acumen.
Senior master sergeants are responsible for mentoring new officers and enlisted Airmen, providing guidance and support as they navigate their careers.
The selectees are celebrated for their dedication and leadership within the Air Force. They are expected to take on expanded responsibilities and pursue higher leadership positions in the future.
