Migrant Worker to Astronaut Will Keynote Hispanic Heritage Banquet in San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX — Former NASA astronaut Dr. Jose M. Hernandez will be the keynote speaker at the 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month Banquet in San Angelo.

Dr. Hernandez was recently immortalized in the film “A Million Miles Away,” where Michael Pena portrayed him.

The banquet is scheduled for September 16th during Hispanic Heritage Month.

Hernandez, known for his journey from agriculture to space exploration, has been influential in various fields beyond his astronautical achievements.
