First Responders BBQ Cook Off Donates Proceeds

SAN ANGELO – Organizers of the First Responders Annual BBQ Cook Off held in October 2023 led a check presentation Tuesday morning donating proceeds to two charitable organizations.

According to Mike Magee, the donations went to the Children's Miracle Network and Autism Alliance of the Concho Valley.

The check presentation was held in the Michael D. Brown Justice Center in downtown San Angelo in the Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Courtroom.

According to the group's website, "Awesome turn out this year. All of the teams that won cash are so supportive of this event that they ALL DONATED THEIR WINNINGS BACK! We had great help from Goodfellow troops throughout the day, as well as many volunteers and sponsors from our community paired with ear pleasing music, and one heck of an MC for awards. We couldn’t do this all without you, much appreciation to everyone."

The annual cook off was held at the Paseo and included over 25 teams.
