Street Closures to Affect Commuters

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The City of San Angelo has released information on upcoming road closures to facilitate necessary construction projects affecting commuters in the specified areas. 

The closures are scheduled to begin on Monday, Feb. 12, and details for each project are outlined below.

Jackson Street Closure:

  • Where: Southeast and north of the Knickerbocker Road intersection (Chick-fil-A side).
  • When: Monday, Feb. 12, to Monday, March 11.
  • Why: Sewer construction on the north side of Jackson Street.
  • Project Completion: July 30, 2024.
  • Note: Traffic will continue to be reduced to two lanes of traffic (one lane in each direction) to allow access to utility work. Businesses within the road closure area will remain open, and access to them will be maintained throughout construction.

S. A&M and University Avenues Closure:

  • Where: S. A&M and University avenues. The closure affects both directions of S. A&M and University at the intersection.
  • When: Monday, Feb. 12, to Friday, Feb. 16.
  • Why: Removal and replacement of existing valley gutter (concrete work) across S A&M-University.
