Burning Questions About San Angelo Animal Shelter

SAN ANGELO, TX - Animal Services organized an open house event at the San Angelo Animal Shelter at 3142 Hwy 67 North on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Citizens were welcomed to participate in the event, where they could voice their concerns, share ideas, or gather more information about the services provided by Animal Services.

The open house facilitated direct communication between the public and staff members.

Morgan Chegwidden, Assistant Director of Neighborhood & Family Services, said the event focused on engaging in conversations with the community.

She said most questions raised by visitors were related to the services offered by Animal Services.

Open houses will continue to be hosted at the shelter through the end of August.

Chegwidden said that open houses will occur every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the spring and summer months.

Each session will focus on different topics related to animal services.

The San Angelo Animal Shelter currently houses 173 dogs, with a capacity of 180, and 55 cats, with a cap of 120.
