Ribbon-Cutting Marks Grand Opening of New Public Restrooms at MLK Jr. Memorial Park

SAN ANGELO, TX - In a collaborative effort between the City of San Angelo, the local unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the San Angelo Area Foundation, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for the grand opening of the new public restrooms at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park.

Located at 2121 Martin Luther King Blvd., the park’s public restrooms are a "testament to the commitment of the community towards enhancing visitors’ experiences."

According to the City of San Angelo, this project was funded through the community thanks to the efforts of the NAACP local unit and the San Angelo Area Foundation.

The City of San Angelo will cover maintenance costs.

The restrooms’ design was done by KFW Architects, with construction provided by McCrea Construction.

"We are thrilled to invite the public to join us in celebrating the completion of this significant project," Parks and Recreation Director Carl White said. "The new public restrooms at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park stand as a symbol of our community's commitment to providing essential amenities and enhancing the overall park experience for all visitors."

Representatives from the City of San Angelo, NAACP, San Angelo Area Foundation, and other community leaders will be at the event.
