San Angelo City Council to Discuss Dogs & Parking Issues Tuesday

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo City Council will discuss animal shelter issues and parking in yards during their regular meeting on Tuesday.  

The meeting, set to take place at the McNease Convention Center on 501 Rio Concho Drive, will be open to the public. For those unable to attend in person, the proceedings will be live-streamed on the City's YouTube channel and SATV, Optimum channel 17.

Public engagement is encouraged, and attendees can provide input during the meeting.

Regular Agenda Highlights:

  • Bergman Heights Senior Affordable Housing Support:
    • A resolution of support for the proposed development of Bergman Heights Senior Affordable Housing will be considered. This project, situated at SEQ Petro Dr. and Ben Ficklin Rd., is part of the 2024 annual Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) affordable housing program. The presentation will be conducted by Neighborhood and Family Services Director Bob Salas and CJ Linter.
  • Community Accessibility and Connectivity Project (CACP) Grant:
    • Discussion and direction related to the CACP Grant award and associated projects will be presented by Operations Director Patrick Frerich.
  • Parking Vehicles on Unimproved Surfaces:
    • Neighborhood and Family Services Director Bob Salas will lead the discussion and review of Chapter 8, Article 8.10 - Parking Vehicles on Unimproved Surface of the Code of Ordinances.
  • Uniform Tax Abatement Policy:
    • Interim Economic Development Director Michael Dane will present on the discussion and review of Chapter 1, Article 1.09, Division 3 - Uniform Tax Abatement Policy of the Code of Ordinances.
  • Animal Services Challenges:
    • Neighborhood and Family Services Assistant Director Morgan Chegwidden will address the council regarding challenges faced by San Angelo and other cities throughout the state/country in the realm of Animal Services.
  • Zoning Revisions:
    • The first reading and public hearing of an ordinance for Z23-17 to rezone properties from a Single-Family Residential zoning district to a Two-Family Residential zoning district, located at 1212, 1210 & 1208 Roosevelt St. The presentation will be made by Planning and Development Services Assistant Director Aaron Vannoy.
