SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts (SAMFA) is excited to announce its much-anticipated Grand Re-Opening, inviting the public to join in the festivities on January 19, 2024.
Marking this significant occasion is the inauguration under a stunning new copper roof, heralding a series of captivating events, world-class exhibitions, and revamped programming.
Attendees are cordially invited to the Grand Re-Opening Reception on January 19, 2024, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Experience an exclusive preview of our new exhibits, namely "N.C. Wyeth and the Golden Age of American Illustration" and "Microscope: A Studio Art Quilt Associates Global Exhibition." This celebratory evening will feature live music and complimentary refreshments for all attendees.
The museum plans an exciting schedule of Love to Learn classes throughout the first quarter of the new year. Local instructors will conduct these sessions, beginning with "The Art of Block Printing" by Becky Strout on January 4, followed by "The Art of Cooking" with Chef Nicole Rousselot McDuffie on February 9, and "The Art of Ceramic Vases" by Michelle Cuevas on March 16 & 23.
On February 9, from 5 to 9 p.m., the museum's Meeting Room will host the Five by Seven Art Show and Sale. This event will showcase stunning 5” x 7” artworks by both local and special guest artists, available for purchase.
March 3rd brings an evening of melodious delight as the San Angelo Chamber Music Series presents the Paradise Winds Reed Quintet: "The Sound of San Angelo and N.C. Wyeth’s Southwest in Music." This concert, inspired by cultural developments representing a century of San Angelo’s growth and the American experience, will grace the museum’s Meeting Room.
