San Angelo Community Rallies to Reunite Missing Dog With its Momma

SAN ANGELO, TX — In a heartwarming turn of events, a small dog named Pepe, who went missing around December 27, 2023, has been safely reunited with his owner, Elisa Gonzales. The story of Pepe's disappearance and the community's efforts to find him has touched the hearts of many in San Angelo.

Elisa Gonzales, who relies on Pepe for emotional support, was distraught when her beloved dog went missing. In a plea for help, she reached out to San Angelo LIVE!, saying, "He's my baby and he's my emotional support dog." Despite her limited means, Gonzales was determined to find Pepe, describing her extensive search and the guilt she felt being at home while her dog was out in the cold.

Responding to her plea, San Angelo LIVE! posted a flyer on Facebook, sparking a community-wide search for Pepe. Days passed with no sign of the little dog, leaving Gonzales anxious and worried.

However, on January 5, 2024, the story took a joyful turn. Elisa informed San Angelo LIVE! of the good news: Pepe had been found. Her relentless efforts, combined with the community's support, paid off when Monica, the manager at El Patio Motel, spotted Pepe near Pinkies Liquor Store at around South David Street. Recognizing him from the flyer, Monica contacted Gonzales, who rushed to the scene.

Upon hearing her voice, Pepe ran towards Gonzales, leading to an emotional reunion. Overwhelmed with relief and gratitude, Gonzales expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped in the search. "God does answer prayers," she said, acknowledging the community's role in bringing Pepe home.
