SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo City Council is set to convene on Tuesday, Dec. 19, with a packed agenda.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the McNease Convention Center, 501 Rio Concho Drive.
Regular agenda highlights:
Donation Resolution from Wall Sophomore FCCLA Students: The council will consider a resolution of donation from Wall Sophomore FCCLA Students for initiatives related to awareness, public education, and projects addressing contamination at Lake Nasworthy.
Angelo State University's Development at Mathis Field Airport: Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Donald Topliff will provide an overview and update on Angelo State University's current and future programs at Mathis Field Airport.
Support for Historic Preservation: The council will weigh a resolution of support for the historic preservation and rehabilitation of Crestwood Terrace Apartments at 3130 W. Beauregard Ave. as part of the 2024 annual Low-Income Housing Tax Credit affordable housing program.
City of San Angelo ADA Self Assessment: The council will discuss and accept the 2023 City of San Angelo ADA Self Assessment of Programs and Services.
Community Service Module Contract: Consideration of a contract with Central Square for the purchase of an updated Community Service Module, costing $312,770.
Zoning Ordinance Update: A first reading and public hearing of an ordinance (Z23-15) to rezone a property from the Heavy Commercial zoning district to Light Manufacturing zoning district at 1182 E. Gas Plant Rd.
Bed and Breakfast Establishments and Short-Term Rentals: Discussion, direction, and possible action on amendments to Section 406 of the Zoning Ordinance, including considerations for joint public hearings with the Planning Commission.
Budget Amendment for Capital Projects: A first reading and public hearing of an ordinance amending the budget for the fiscal year starting October 1, 2023, and ending September 30, 2024, for capital projects.
Contract with San Angelo Destination Marketing Organization: Consideration of a contract with the San Angelo Destination Marketing Organization, allocating Hotel Occupancy Tax receipts for eligible activities.
Public comments on items in the Regular Agenda will be accepted as each item is discussed. Applicants, proponents, and appellants are exempt from the time limit, with remarks limited to less than five minutes.
