WATCH: 30th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade Commence

SAN ANGELO – Festive lights now illuminate downtown San Angelo as the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony and Lights of Christmas Parade officially began.

The 30th annual tree lighting ceremony occurred with Mayor Brenda Gunter giving the countdown.

Music was performed by the “Mark Clark and Twin Mountain Tonesmen,” along with “Connie Kelley and the San Angelo Community Band.”

An announcement during the ceremony mentioned that the Concho Christmas Celebration formed a partnership with Chick-fil-A.

Lee Pfluger of the Concho Christmas Celebration Community Committee disclosed that each vehicle participating in the light tour will be rewarded with a gift bag.

He said the bag would include a survey offering participants a chance to win a $1,000 shopping spree at Sunset Mall, candy canes, and two Chick-fil-A gift cards worth $5 each.

“Everybody loves Chick-fil-A, and everyone loves Concho Christmas,” he said.

Eric Samaniego, a Chick-fil-A representative, said, “We just wanted to thank San Angelo,” and that the company is glad to be a part of San Angelo.
