SAN ANGELO - The Concho Valley Community Action Agency is seeking donations for the emergency warming shelter.
Organizations across San Angelo are working together to open an emergency warming shelter during the inclement weather, but need items to feed “our neighbors” as they come in.
“We always hear that many people want to help, but they don't know where to start,” the organization stated. “An easy way to make a difference is by gathering and donating some needed items for our Emergency Warming Shelter. We are trying to stockpile some much-needed items such as non-perishable snacks, towels, and non-frozen microwavable meals.”
Other items that can be donated include water bottles, protein bars, hand warmers, blankets, and other warm apparel such as hats, scarves and gloves.
These items can be dropped off at CVCAA which is located at 133 W Concho Ave Suite 301.
The organization also stated that volunteers are needed to help operate the shelter overnight.
Information from the organization states that the shelter will only be open during nights that hit the cold activation point of 36 degrees with at least a 50 percent chance of precipitation, or 32 degrees with no precipitation.
