Old Tire Recycling Event Saturday at San Angelo Coliseum

SAN ANGELO — Keep San Angelo Beautiful is gearing up for a community event aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and team building Saturday.

The organization is hosting a tire collection and document shredding event at the San Angelo Coliseum, located at 4618 Grape Creek Rd in San Angelo, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec 2.

The primary focus of the event is to encourage residents to responsibly dispose of their pickup and auto tires.

The organization welcomes all types of tires, with the exception of rims and industrial tires.

Participants are requested to make a $2 donation per tire, with the exception of those bringing fewer than 25 tires, for whom the donation is optional.

In addition to tire collection, the event offers an opportunity for community members to securely dispose of sensitive documents through free document shredding. Each participant can bring up to four boxes of documents for shredding.

For those looking to combine community service with team building, the event invites volunteers to join in the effort.

The 3-hour event promises not only a chance to contribute to a cleaner environment but also boasts itself as the “best outdoor workout in town,” according to the organization.

For further information and to register as a volunteer, interested individuals can contact Charlotte Anderson at [email protected] or call (325) 486-3771.
