First Responders Honored at Fire Station 7

SAN ANGELO, TX — On Monday, September 11, the firefighters and first responders were honored at Firestation 7 in San Angelo at 8:30 a.m. Despite the rainfall early in the morning, several people gathered in the firehouse to talk about the events on September 11 and about the men and women who made the sacrifices necessary in response to emergency situations.

Ms. Joy Lay organized the event for the first responders and invited Pastor Craig Myers, who leads St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church here in San Angelo, to speak to everyone gathered. The Pastor spoke about the events of September 11, the firefighters who died, and the struggles still ongoing with the after-effects of the towers collapse that day. He spoke about the sacrifices these people make to ensure we are never overwhelmed by a crisis situation. He ended his talk by thanking the first responders at Fire Station 7.

After Pastor Myers finished his talk, everyone at the fire station spoke to each other about September 11 and about what was going on in San Angelo.
