SAN ANGELO, TX — Have you thought about adopting a pet recently? Well, you are in luck because the City of San Angelo announced on its Facebook page that Concho Valley Paws is holding a Free Adoption Day that began on Wednesday and runs through Saturday.
Concho Valley Paws, located next to the San Angelo Animal Shelter at 3134 North U.S. Highway 67, is holding a free adoption day on Friday, August 4, from 1-7 p.m., and at Petco, located at 4157 Sunset Drive, on Saturday, August 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Per Concho Valley Paws website, “Concho Valley PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) is dedicated to the missions of saving homeless animals from euthanasia, finding loving homes for adoptable pets, and encouraging public awareness of spay and neuter to control the unwanted pet population. PAWS makes it possible to save even more pets and reach out to even more people in the community. We can do more together than we can do alone. Please consider joining our efforts by donating your time or money to save an animal’s life today.”
“Concho Valley PAWS is the area’s largest nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to pets. Our mission is to end the euthanasia of all adoptable animals. We feature pet adoption services, a low-cost spay and neuter voucher program, training classes, activities for kids and teens, and opportunities for fosters and volunteers. We rely on the generous support of the community to continue and enhance our efforts to make life better for pets and people.”
The organization stated in the Facebook Post that it hopes San Angelo can adopt 150 animals in the month of August. Anyone who comes out and adopts an animal can receive a free gift as well as a chance to win a $100 VISA gift card. The Animal Shelter is currently full and needs to be cleared out. PAWS says that adopting a pet this weekend saves lives and accomplishes the goal of clearing out the Animal Shelter.
