Benefit Barbecue and Auction Planned for Rowdy Rauterkus

SAN ANGELO, TX — Mark "Rowdy" Rauterkus is a long-standing resident of San Angelo. Born and raised here, he has always been one of the first people to do things that are good for the community.

Over the years he has worked with Turn the Paige Foundation, Toys for Tots, friends of the NRA, and has participated in many events with Sonrisas and the Boys Ranch. He participates in gathering donations for any benefit event that has requested it. He participates in Mystery Fest and never turns down his friends when they need someone to help with a project, move, house sit, pet feeding or anything they have asked him to do.

Rowdy is dearly beloved by many and has always been willing to assist. Now it's our turn to assist him.

Rowdy is diabetic and lost his job because of repeated hospitalizations due to his illness. He lost the lower portion of one of his legs and still has a long way to go to be healthy again. Unfortunately, bills keep coming in even when he has no way to take care of them. That's where we all come in!

Friends of Rowdy are holding a benefit and selling brisket plates for $10 on Sunday. There will be a live and silent auction and five different raffles happening at Blaines Pub, 10 W Harris Ave, on Sunday, July 30.

Here are the raffles:

  • Raffle #1 - Side of beef professionally processed by Sklenarik Meats. 1/2 Wagyu - 1/2 Longhorn Cross - $50 a ticket
  • Raffle #2 - 5.56 Anderson AR Rifle - $10 a ticket
