SAN ANGELO, TX — Burkes Outlet in Southwest Plaza in San Angelo has changed its name to Bealls to promote company growth Bealls Inc. said in a statement. The Florida-based chain owned both Bealls Outlet stores and Burkes outlet stores across the country. The company announced that the Burkes Outlet location in San Angelo at 3598 Knickerbocker Road was a part of that rebranding.
Beall’s is a family-owned and operated store that opened its doors back in 1915 by R.M. Bealle in Bradenton, Florida. Since then, the company expanded its business across the United States with brands such as Burkes Outlet and Beall’s Outlet. The decision to rename and combine the stores was made back in April of 2023.
The Florida apparel and home merchandise retailer will merge its 600 Bealls Outlet and Burkes Outlet locations under the new “Bealls” moniker. The word “outlet” is being dropped to avoid misconceptions about the origin and quality of its merchandise, the retailer said in a release.
“Uniting Burkes Outlet and Bealls Outlet as ‘Bealls’ is very appealing, and in the long-term will reduce confusion while increasing brand awareness,” explained Matt Beall, chairman and CEO. Bealls Inc. “We feel that it elevates the perception of our stores to match the quality of merchandise that exists in our stores today.”
Any Burkes Outlet gift cards, credit cards, and reward points earned through purchases at Burkes Outlet will be honored at Bealls. For questions, concerns, and more information, contact Bealls at 325-942-1094.
