Fort Concho Gets Loud & Rowdy Celebrating Independence Day

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo's historic Fort Concho will be having a number of fun events over the Independence Day weekend.

Events will include hamburger suppers, artillery, art show, and much more. Fort Concho is located at 630 S Oakes St. 

The following is the full message from the City of San Angelo:

Fort Concho will celebrate Independence Day with a hamburger supper meal July 3 and traditional salutes by the fort’s artillery July 4.

In partnership with the Lions Clubs and Downtown San Angelo, a burger supper, dine-in or takeout, will be available from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 3 at the Fort Concho Stables Hall, 210 Henry O. Flipper St. For $10, guests will get a burger, chips, cookie and bottled water.

On July 4, the Fort Concho artillery will mark the nation’s 247th birthday with hourly salutes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the fort’s Parade Ground near the Barracks 1 Visitor Center.

There is no charge to watch the artillery. All fort display buildings will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Western Art Show will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Barracks 6.
