New Pier at Lake Nasworthy is Really Open Now

SAN ANGELO, TX – The newly built fishing pier at Lake Nasworthy next to the Nature Center has officially opened as of Thursday.

One local TV station company erroneously announced the Pier was opened days ago and had to clarify the story.

According to the City of San Angelo, on June 29, 2023, the Lake Nasworthy Fishing Pier officially opened to the public.

Crews have been working on the pier for the past year and have been looking to open for weeks. Despite a report from another local new station, the pier officially opened on June 29, 2023.

The park, located at 2160 Mary E. Lee Road, features numerous benches, lighting, and a shaded pavilion area. On top of all of that this specific pier was made for handicap accessibility.

"The new Lake Nasworthy Fishing Pier is officially open," stated the City's Facebook Page. "We hope everyone enjoys the new fishing pier."
