SAN ANGELO, TX – The daughter of fallen San Angelo Police Officer Korby Kennedy is set to graduate during police week.
As previously reported, on June 25, 2015, San Angelo Police Department Officer Korby Kennedy, 44, was killed in a car crash while escorting a parade down Knickerbocker Rd. Following the death of the officer, citizens of San Angelo outpoured love for the family.
Fast forward eight years and the city would once again do the same. In a post by the San Angelo Police Department, on May 15, 2023, revealed that Korby's daughter Emily would graduate from TLCA High School on May 19.
In the post thousands or citizens showed their support for Emily. On top of that a billboard has been put up showing support. While most sent a simple congrats, some commented on how proud they were of Emily.
"Big congratulations, Emily! The entire community is rooting for you!" said one commenter. While another commented, "Congratulations young lady, follow your dreams and don’t let anyone or anything stop you."
As for the billboard itself, the SAPD told Emily to never worry because Korby was always with her.
"You're guardian angel always has your back #160," said the billboard. "Love your family at the SAPD!"
The TLCA High School Graduation is May 19 at 6 p.m. National Police Week lasts from May 14-May 20.
