Fairmount Cemetery Will Clear Gravesites on Tuesday

SAN ANGELO, TX — Fairmount Cemetery’s staff will clean the burial grounds Tuesday, Jan. 17, removing flowers and other items from graves so the property can be cleaned and trimmed.

Every year, when Fairmount staff cleans the burial grounds, the City receives complaints that flowers or decorations left by family members are missing and no one gave notice. This is your notice!

Those who want to preserve items should remove them from gravesites before the end of the day Monday, Jan. 16. Items may be returned to the cemetery, located at 1100 W. Avenue N, beginning Friday, Jan. 27.

Items left at gravesites will be picked up and held for one week for residents to pick up. Unclaimed items will be disposed of Friday, Jan. 27.

Lot owners are reminded that flowers should be placed only to the sides or in cradles on top of monuments. This allows for maintenance of gravesites.
