San Angelo Regional Fire Fighters Training Facility Adds Regional Jet for Training

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Fire Department has added another piece of equipment to the regional training facility.

According to the San Angelo Regional Training Facility, on Dec. 14, 2022, the facility installed a retired regional commercial jet to train firefighters on how to handle airplane fires.

"We were able to purchase an airplane to be used for our ARFF training needs. We have been trying to get this done for many years and it finally happened," said the facility's Facebook page. "This is a huge addition to our training facility and will greatly help us in training the highest qualified personnel not only right here at home but hopefully for our entire region. Big things coming from SAFD in the future"

The jet was towed in by Home Motors to the facility located at 3154 N US Hwy 67.
