Ft. Concho to Celebrate Armed Forces Day Saturday with Artillery Fire

 

SAN ANGELO- Ft. Concho will celebrate Armed Forces Day Saturday with special events including hourly artillery fire. 

Fort Concho will hold its annual Armed Forces Day celebration on Saturday, May 21, with hourly artillery salutes from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the site’s Parade Ground Near the Visitor Center at Barracks 1, located at 630 South Oaks.

The site’s display and exhibit buildings will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In honor of the day and our armed forces, any active-duty member and all family members may enjoy the fort at no charge. Members of the fort’s living history program will have a display of items on the porch of Barracks 1 as part of Armed Forces Day.
