SAN ANGELO – Fort Concho will again be hosting special events and programs for Spring Break according to information from the City of San Angelo.
Fort Concho will offer several special programs and services in the spring break period of March 12-19.
Special site walking tours will be offered starting Monday, March 14, through Saturday, March 19, at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Fort staff and volunteers, many in period uniform and dress, will conduct the tours that cover up to eight of the site buildings.
Regular admission will be charged but there will be no extra fee for the guided tours. In addition, there will be an ongoing living history clothing workshop at Officers’ Quarters 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, March 15-17.
The Ladies Living History Symposium will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 12, in the fort’s Commissary Building, Burgess Street at East Avenue C, with special talks and workshops.

The fort will also host a School of the Soldier training camp for living history volunteers on Saturday and Sunday, with troops in uniform taking classes, drilling on the Parade Ground and performing other daily and ceremonial tasks including the flag ceremonies at 5 p.m. on Saturday and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
