SAN ANGELO, TX – Meleah Plummer, the 10th grade student from Wall High School who was diagnosed with a rare but critical medical condition with her brain, has returned home 44 days after surgery.
According to Meleah's parents, Chris and Angela Plummer, on Feb. 25, Meleah returned to their hometown.
"63 days since her siblings have seen her and goodness were they happy to just be with her! We were all overcome with tears of joy," stated the Plummer's on Facebook. "Her sweet friends came and decorated her room with pictures, flowers, a lamp, a plant and more plus sets of comfortable clothes for her while at rehab. Just made her room feel so special."
Although the surgery was a success the road is just beginning for Meleah. She will now have to go through extensive rehab but is already showing signs of improvement. In her therapy, Meleah is beginning to be able to eat on her own, dribble a basketball, and do other simple tasks to improve her motor skills.
"She did PT today and did some batting with a stick and balloon," stated the Meleah's parents on Facebook. "Loved seeing her "swing a bat" again!"
