Concho Valley Homeless Coalition to Count Local Homeless Thursday

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Concho Valley Homeless Planning Coalition will be conducting their 2022 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count on Thursday, January 27th. The Concho Valley Homeless Planning Coalition is an independent group of area agencies designed to specifically target the housing crisis in our city.

The PIT Count is an event where communities across the nation go out and take a census of sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals they have in their community. The PIT Count serves as a baseline for state and federal support for addressing the needs of the homeless community.

“The Concho Valley Homeless Planning Coalition is excited to engage in this year’s PIT Count. After taking a year off for COVID, this year’s count is especially crucial so that we can accurately determine the resources needed to serve our homeless neighbors,” said Bob Salas, Director of Neighborhood and Community Services with the City of San Angelo and Concho Valley Homeless Planning Coalition Chair.

On Thursday, January 27th, volunteers on three different shifts will disperse in teams to various homeless hot spots and meal locations, such as along the Concho River and at Rust St. Ministries. The first shift will be from 5am-8am, the middle shift will be from 10am-1pm, and the last shift will be from 6pm-9pm.

“The San Angelo community is eager to find solutions to the housing crisis facing our neighbors and how we can work toward permanent housing solutions for our neighbors that are struggling to find and maintain housing. We have seen this in tremendous community involvement and the generosity of area agencies and businesses to make this count a success,” said Sidney Timmer, Outreach and Development Manager at Concho Valley Community Action Agency.

Thanks to the generosity of area agencies, churches, and businesses our homelessness neighbors will be given a bag of street essentials for participating in the count.

Additionally, thanks to the participation of community volunteers this year’s count will include three different count times, in years past the count was limited to the dinner time count.

How is it that right wing people can be so tedious & yet enjoy cruelty as much as they do?  You would think such obvious cognitive dissonance, selfishness, & willful ignorance would at least be a tiny bit entertaining. Instead, it's just completely dull, hateful gibberish.  This aggressive, know-nothing rude barbarism serves no one except the grifters that you slavishly adore & you'll never figure it out.  You don't have the capacity between your deaf ears.
