San Angelo City Council Paves the Way for Long Awaited Valley View Subdivision

SAN ANGELO, TX –– The city council Tuesday unanimously voted to approve a zone change for a new subdivision development of nearly 20 acres near the area of College Hills Blvd and Valley View Blvd.

The current zoning district allows multifamily apartments, while the proposed re-zoning "reduces the allowable density to allow zero lot line homes, townhomes, and all types of single-family housing."

According to the Director of Planning and Development Services, Jon James, the area was zoned for apartment complexes for years.

With the approved change, the new development will be made up of single-family houses.

The area is expected to include approximately 70 new homes in an area that is "currently experiencing a commercial and residential boom."

The subdivision is being developed by Duncan Group Southland LLC.
